Quite often we are asked if a knitted hairnet is required to be worn under a mob cap? (most imported mob caps/hairnets do require a secondary protection….. CREATING INCREASED COSTS).
The UK made ULTRA-CAP is designed to cover all the hair in comfort and a secondary hairnet is therefore NOT REQUIRED.
The introduction of additional knitted hairnets arose, in the main, because of the usage by some Food Manufacturers who were being sold Mob Caps (Disposable Hairnets) imported from China/Asia by UK PPE importers.
These imported Mob Caps/Hairnets were of inferior quality in that the fabrics used had “gaps” in their manufacture. This together with a sizing which was not adequate to cover many of the hair lengths of food industry operatives created the problem of Hair & Scalp Contamination. A not “Fit for Purpose” product, creating a need for the operative to wear the additional Hairnets.
An operative will then have 4 sets of elastication around their forehead for all their working day. More discomfort for a wearer.
